북쪽의 겨울철 육각형 (The Northern Winter Hexagon)

12월의 삭월이 연휴 시즌에 일식을 일으켰다. 또 전세계 하늘 덕후들에게 달빛이 없는 북쪽 겨울 밤의 아름다운 밤 하늘을 선사했다. 이 장면에는 은하수를 따라 놓인 겨울철 육각형의 밝은 별들이 떠오르고 있다. 슬로바키아, 오라브스카 레즈나의 마을 근처에 눈이 내린 안락한 풍경의 산에 오두막이 자리하고 있다. 빛나는 우주의 등불들은 잘 알려진 별자리를 이루는 알데바란, 카멜라, 폴룩스 (그리고 카스토르), 프로키온, 리겔 그리고 시리우스다. 이 겨울의 밤 풍경에서 오리온자리의 흐릿한 성운과 사랑스러운 플레이아데스 성단도 찾을 수 있다. 커서를 이 사진 위에 올리거나 이 링크를 따라 겨울철 육각형을 따라 가보자. 

Explanation: December’s New Moon brought a solar eclipse to some for the holiday season. It also gave beautiful dark night skies to skygazers around the globe, like this moonless northern winter night. In the scene, bright stars of the Winter Hexagon along the Milky Way are rising. Cosy mountain cabins in the snowy foreground are near the village of Oravska Lesna, Slovakia. The shining celestial beacons marking the well-known asterism are Aldebaran, Capella, Pollux (and Castor), Procyon, Rigel, and Sirius.
